Ritual medicine music: bass, magic, alchemy and ceremony

The Great Medicine Show is electronic music made to be performed as a ritual. A night opens with sound bowls and gongs, moves through dance, aerial and fire, and closes with the whole cast on stage, with original bass music carrying it from the first note to the last.

What we mean by ritual

A ritual is something done on purpose, in an order, with people who chose to be there. A dance floor already has most of that. People arrive, the night builds, something peaks, and everyone leaves a little different from how they came in. The Great Medicine Show takes that shape seriously and stages it: an opening, a build, a peak and a closing, with music, movement and fire each given its moment.

"Medicine" in the name is the feeling we aim for in the room. It is artistic intent, not a health claim, and nothing here is offered as treatment for anything.

Four ways in

The music underneath

The Great Medicine Show has released more than 100 songs and reached 1.20 million Spotify streams in 2025. It is bass music, dubstep, jungle, garage and house, woven with world instruments and voice: oud from Mah Ze Tar, voices like Sugar Light, and remix and revibe work for David Starfire and Liquid Bloom. Titles like Light Medicine, made with Sugar Light Rising, and The Great Medicine Show remix of Bass Ritual, featuring Mah Ze Tar on Amrita Records, say plainly what the catalogue is about. Hear it on the music and links page.
